Carolina Coffee Shop Secret Menu

When I go out to eat, I often order whatever the server tells me is their favorite. When you spend enough time at a restaurant, you come to discover what the best modifications and "secret menu" items are (hence my trust in server favorites). Here are some of my coworkers and my go-to orders when we're working at CCS- let me know if you try any of them out!

Shrimp & Grits

My personal favorite on the menu gets even better with a couple of additions. Adding fried or poached eggs on top is a must, and I love adding onions and mushrooms. Take out the asparagus, and you've got my take on our shrimp & grits.

An honorable mention of mine is the beermosa. Mama's Little Yella Pils topped with a splash of OJ- don't knock it til you try it.

Emily's ELTCA

This one's for the vegetarians! Emily's go-to is our BLTCA sandwich, with the bacon swapped out for eggs fried medium. This take on the sandwich is so good she has the whole staff eating it, vegetarian or not. Emily also suggests swapping out your english muffin for a biscuit for the Eggs Jennifer. A southern twist on a CCS classic, (plus, biscuits are inherently better).

Rachel's BYO Breakfast Sandwich

A true secret menu item, people rarely know that we offer breakfast sandwiches. Rachel, however, truly capitalizes on this option stacking her sourdough bread high with eggs, swiss, avocado, spinach, and our peppercorn mayo.

Another favorite of Rachel's is the breakfast burrito, one of our chef Cisco's specialties, full of hash browns, eggs, peppers and more.

Mack's Scramble

Mack suggests turning your omelet at CCS into a scramble instead. Their favorite toppings to include are sausage and feta, but anything you enjoy in an omelet will do!

Peppercorn mayo deserves its own shoutout here since Mack was the second server to mention it. This yummy in-house sauce is perfect on our crispy chicken sandwich and more.

Madison's Lunch Favorites

Madison's go-to’s are the chicken bacon brie sandwich and the veggie wrap. These lunchtime favorites don't see the light on our brunch menu, but on most days the kitchen can still make it happen.

Shoutout CCS for feeding me for the past year and a half, truly don't know how I'd do college without you.

Cheers,

Katie Magnolia
